Default CRT`s extinct

I wonder how many more years old glass picture tubes will still be made
for todays products . Its been amazing how long this old device has
lasted in production .

I work in the salvage business for 6 years now and saw all regular
curved screen tv sets . Just the last 3 years have seen flat CRT coming
in .. now the flat CRT are even up on our shelves with the old style .

The last 3 months i have had in tons of LCD and plasma sets despite
their high prices they are showing up in larger numbers FAST .

I hate the flat CRT sets because when you get any over 27`` they are to
heavy to move ! have you tried to get a 36`` flat CRT set up on a bench
? OUCH .. I have seen a few of these drop damaged new in box and they
pretty much self distruct .

I hope to see a big price drop in the flat tv sets sence they are going
to be 50/50 disposable and 100% disposable defective screen wise . I
like flat tv sets and own 3 now and find the focus to be far better than
the tube .

One of the reasons the flat screen took so long to come out is their curved
screen gives it the strength, how often do you see a water dam without a
curve in it? Never! they need the curve for mechanical strength.

but you might know this already, Interesting story you have told us,
I have never seen a flat screen, ex-flat screen CRT in lots of pieces.
