Hi,
Have had the TV for just over 3 months and just noticed that the any text displayed at the bottom of the picture is just off the screen. For example watching the cricket the score was half off the bottom, in fact the score banner seemed to be moving as though some sort of adjustment was trying to fit it on the screen. FYI: The TV in question is a JVC AV-28R4SK and the picture mode is 'Full', ie no zoom or anything. Putting it in 16:9 or 14:9 pushes the top and bottom of the picture right off the screen. Is this just the way it is or is something wrong. there doesn't appear to be anything that can adjust this behaviour. Regards. Bill. |

What are you feeding the TV with! If it is an Anamorphic Widescreen source ie. Sky box, FreeviewBox or NTL/TW Box (all set to 16:9) or DVD player set to 16:9 then yes, you have a problem. But, If you are just trying to watch terrestrial analogue 4:3 transmissions (albeit with a bit of cropping), the TV is behaving exactly as I would expect it to. -- Graham. %Profound_observation% |

Mfrs often set for slight overscan, as being preferable to complaints that the picture doesn't fill the screen, or that there is a black line top and bottom, or on both sides. There is probably a service menu accessable from the handset, but as it's 3 mth old I wouldn't bugger with it. Depends on your maintenance and warranty arrangements, but it's very easy to screw it up completely once you get into maintenance mode. In maintenance mode you need a steady pattern and an understanding of trapezium, pincushion, and a few other terms. Knacker it for Christmas and the Ball and Chain won't do lunch for you. |
