I just stumbled across (and of course traded for) an Allied Model 365
Receiver. This is the first Allied Receiver that I have ever seen, and I have not found any info on the net. It has a solid state amplifier, and my guess is that it was manufactured circa 1966??? It has a "McIntosh" style faceplate (similar in appearance to the McIntosh 1700) and is surprisingly heavy for it's size. (built like a tank) I would like to know more about the history and production of this unit, and possibly someone can point me to a url, or something. Like so many fledgling amplifier manufacturers, this may indeed be another high quality product manufacturer, that for whatever reason, no longer exists. Is this the same "Allied" as in Allied Signal? And, of course this receiver has distortion in the channels and a schematic would be nice. Thanks, Marc |
