Your set is capable of getting those channels. It's probably bad solder
connections around the grounds on the tuner 175-2277-01, or a bad tuner. It could be fixed probably. People laugh at sets that old all they want. Zeniths of that era were very good as long as the picture tubes were good. A lot better than later Zeniths. Ron I have an old Zenith System 3 model SC2097W manufactured in September 1986. It's a cable ready model. On channels above 67, the picture is fuzzy. Channels 2 to 66 are crystal clear. Is there anyway to clear the picture up or is the tv not designed for channels above 67? The reason I'm asking this is that Cablevision,in all of their wisdom,put the local sports channels on 70,71,& 72. Thanks |

People laugh at sets that old all they want. Zeniths
of that era were very good as long as the picture tubes were good. A lot better than later Zeniths. Ron Those 80's sets were made when Zenith's slogan actually meant something, all right. The 1990s Zeniths, on the other hand ... does anybody like seeing their Zeniths turn green? - Reinhart |
