Please help guys !!

Ok the other day my Tv went into standby mode.

I searched all the web and newsgroups to find a solution but had no
luck.
I then deceided that i should take it to a local tv repairer. I picked
the Tv up today and the guy said that to fix the problem it was going
to set me back around £150 !!

He said that he was on the phone to Toshiba also and that it was the
Teletext module that was faulty, he told me that he removed the
Teletext module and the Tv worked fine. Although i asked him if it
would be ok to run the Tv witout the Teletext module but he didn't
recommend it and that i would be better of with a replacement module.
although he did say he removed one from a Tv the other week !!

Please can someone help me locate the Teletext module, i've scanned
the boards but nothing i've seen sticks out. What should i be looking
for, size etc....

Is it possible to run a Tv with removing the module ?
Do you think £150 sounds expensive ?


After searching the groups this sounds like a common fault with
Toshiba Tv's ?
If i can locate where the module is i can look for dry's blown caps
etc....

I really hope that someone can help and guide me in the right
direction.
