.....And on top of that the remote is lost so I don't know how to access the
Serviceman codes without it. TV was assembled Jan 2000. Cost over $350 and hasn't had a lot of use. I hate to spend $45 on a new remote just to find out that there's more to it than just being able to "adjust" it back into presentable working condition. There are no "obviously" burnt components or blown-up capacitors. Shouldn't my Dish Network # 103602 remote work with this TV??? Is there any way to "cheat" the remote circuitry to make it act like it would if I actually had the remote??? Any ideas?? May be it didn't like being moved?? (Not very far!) Best regards, Joe S. Please E-Mail directly Thanks |

You will need the original factory remote. Universal remotes will not work
with more than the very basic functions. Capacitors do not have to be physically blown to bits, or resistors looking like they came off the BBQ to be defective, or the set reeking of dead fish smells, to have failed parts. Most failures of components are not visible to the eye. The only way to know what the defects are, is to properly troubleshoot the set. Why not take the set in for a proper estimate at a reputable shop, to be able to make a proper decision about what to do. -- Jerry G. ========================== "Joe S." wrote in message om... .....And on top of that the remote is lost so I don't know how to access the Serviceman codes without it.
