This is my first post on this forum

A friend of me has a pioneer avic-505 mobile navigation system. He lives in
south of France. The system worked well, up to a trip in a mountain, whith very
bad road.
Since this trip, the system doen't work.
The configuration CD runs normally, without any error. When it requires the map
CD, an error appears after the information about the program version. The error
number is
80030003 and the version appears to be
SDAL V.1.7 and APL is KARALA

The regional Pioneer service (in the NICE city) refuses to give any information
except:ask to the vendor. The vendor only proposes to send to the factory, to
check the system for a 100 euros, but is not able to give any other technical
information.
Does anybody have any idea on what is the problem?
