Hey guys,
I was just sitting here surfing the net,and my monitor started doing wierd stuff.. Lastnight the image faded out a bit,got kinda sideways, and *CRACK!* something inside arced.(I'm suspecting one of the built in sparkgaps fired.) and then came right back. I took it apart, looked for charred resistors,or bulging caps, and everything looks okay.I also dusted it out fairly well.(thought maybe the dust was causing a path for the arc to jump?) So,now this morning it did it again, and now the picture is kind of unstable, getting larger/smaller just a bit every few minutes, like a dirty H/V size pot, except this monitor has the digital on-screen menu stuff. The model # is TX-T1563 (whoa,it just did it again..) I dunno how I feel about using this thing in this condition..Hopefully there won't be some massive catastophic failure with fireworks as I sit here late at night.. :-o Any ideas, pointers, thoughts on what might be causing this? I'm suspecting something in the flyback circuit (HOT,leaky cap etc.,maybe the flyback itself?))Any clues you could give me would be great.. Thanks! Patrick. |
