Default picture loss cured by sharp tap

Hi
My JVC 21" often shows a grey, fuzzy screen (like no ariel plugged in)
when I switch on, on all terrestrial channels. Scart inputted channels
(DVD and video)work fine.
I've discovered that a sharp tap simultaneously on both sides of the
screen restores the picture. (I find with some delight that sometimes
hitting does work!) I often move the TV on its castors between rooms
so I'm thinking there's something worked loose. I've taken the back
off and can't find anything obvious and pushed everything home that
might be loose. Still have the problem.
Any suggestions gratefully received

A pretty common fault with some model JVCs, usually caused through dry
joints in the tuner unit, especially if the SCART inputs are OK.
It will either require replacing, or if you're a dab hand with a fine tipped
soldering iron it can probably be repaired by removal and very careful
soldering.
It might also pay to solder around the IF stage whilst your at it.

Regards
John
