The colour tracking starts to go off when the CRT starts to become weak. The
CRT must be near to its maximum hours that it will keep working.

If you have the training, access to the proper test gear, and service
manual, you can go in to the set and start doing some troubleshooting on it.
From experience, I think you are going to find what I am suggesting.

Ditto on the picture tube probably simply getting weak due to it being near
the end of its useful life.
Next to go will be everything due to the AKB circuit blanking the crt due to
unable to balance the gun emissions within acceptable specification.

Some slight adjustments at this point, done by an experienced technician
with this set, will yield a temporary extension of the useful life of the
tv. Usually around a 10% extension of the life already served is about all
that can be expected with a decent picture.
