Pioneer CT1250, both wheels are turning in idle
Anybody knows if this is normal in this casette deck
that two capstan motors are rotating in idle mode? Looks like not right that the belt needs to hold the motor - I have cracked the belt linking two capstan motor wheels but I am affraid the new one will soon crack if it must to fight with the motor. Where to look for the failure? |

Pioneer CT1250, both wheels are turning in idle
There is only one capstan motor, which the right flywheel is part of. It drives the left
flywheel, which is just a flywheel, with the belt. It is normal for the motor to run full time when power is on. -- Stephen Sank, Owner & Ribbon Mic Restorer Talking Dog Transducer Company http://stephensank.com 5517 Carmelita Drive N.E.
