If it is like many Dell monitors made by Sony:
1. It has a failure that needs repaired. No need to screw with adjustments.
Most competant techs with experience doing monitor repairs will have no
trouble narrowing down any failure like this, usually without a schematic or
service manual
2. If it has adjustments, they are available with a special DAS alignment
software and interface that is difficult and relatively expensive to get a
hold of it you are not an authorized servicer.

Have you called Dell to see what it will cost to have it repaired yet?

There is NO service mode for this Sony-built monitor. Have you tried
the color restore option? See the Dell page here...

no, why would i be posting to this group, soliciting advice from competent
techs, if i was planning on having dell repair it? i understand that no
amount of adjustment is a substitute for fixing root cause... however i
have seen more than 1 monitor that has been so far out of adjustment that
it may appear to have failed... just asking for a little advice, all techs
have to start somewhere, on their journey to someday be competent ;-)

From memory this monitor has no service mode to speak of. There are failed
components causing your fault. Sometimes it is the high voltage multiplier,
and or sometimes it is also some of the capacitors in the HV and scan
circuits.

As for any service set-ups you will require the DAS alignment system with
the software and interface. There is also some factory training and proper
instrumentation required to do this type of work. This is available to
authorized service centres only. The cost of this system is far greater
than even buying a number of new montors. The unauthorised centres job
these types of monitors out to the factory service if this level of service
is required, and bill the customer accordingly.
