Gateway 2000 Vivatron CPD-GF250T monitor
I have a Gateway 2000 Vivatron monitor, Model CPD-GF250T, S/N 8111625 that I
was given. The problem with it is that the bottom 1/4th of the screen appears to be "rolled up" such that the words in that area are crunched and upside down. It doesn't appear to matter if the monitor is cold or warmed up, or if the computer is turned on first or second. It appears to be there all the time as the DOS text screen at bootup is also not correct. I did a Google search and didn't find anything relevant, and so was wondering if anyone has seen this before. Thanks for any info - I'm just trying to do the homework before tearing into it. WT |

Gateway 2000 Vivatron CPD-GF250T monitor
This sounds like a Sony monitor. They can be very difficult to repair.
I would check everything in the vertical sweep area on the main board. I think you have a vertical foldover problem. Check the electrolytic capacitors and resitors around the vertical IC. The IC itself may be bad. John |
