Default Yamaha receiver, RX 550

repair shop says there is a component in tuner which fails when warmed
up--in fact, in home use here, sound comes out distored after a few
hours turned on.

Can anyone help with a schematic, and/or tips to track down which
component is failing?

Sounds like a VCO problem. Maybe an adjustment would help.
