Blimey, I remember as a kid we had a Sony "Tapecorder", a reel to reel mono
recorder with one of those fascinating green magic eye valves to set the
record level. I used that a lot, and it was very well built indeed. I could
imagine that if someone presented that to me now in pristine working
condition, with all the tapes I had made, I might be rather chuffed. I
might not even know it had to be shipped to the States and back for its
refurbishment.



It is rather extravagant though, I agree!
