What a carry on
"Gareth Magennis" wrote in message news:... "N_Cook" wrote in message ... Someone in New York is having to ship out to me in the UK, and return carriage, to repair a 20 lb 30 year-old tape recorder Well, maybe they are very wealthy and that kind of money is what they may lose in an hour at the Casino. Blimey, I remember as a kid we had a Sony "Tapecorder", a reel to reel mono recorder with one of those fascinating green magic eye valves to set the record level. I used that a lot, and it was very well built indeed. I could imagine that if someone presented that to me now in pristine working condition, with all the tapes I had made, I might be rather chuffed. I might not even know it had to be shipped to the States and back for its refurbishment. It is rather extravagant though, I agree! Gareth. |
