I don't know to what posts you refer because I no longer see most of
them, but have you never heard of a Kill File?

The posts are from China through Google Groups. Google refuses to close
the spigot. Complain to Google Groups. Ask them to ban any posts from
China.

It also depends on your news provider.

Supernews seems to have responded to my request for blocking on "NNTP
Posting Host" IP addresses of these Chinese counterfeit
watch/shoe/handbag/etc spam posters. I rarely see those anymore, and I
read a lot of newsgroups like 24HRHDS that used to be flooded with them.

I currently see three spams from a yahoo account. Other than that, the only spam
I see is from Curtis Brown slagging Michael Terrell.

yeah that's a great idea, let's not allow about a billion people to
post on google because of spam on sci.electronics.repair. maybe we
should invade china too, and kill everyone there so as to put an end
to it for good

A) It's NOT just s.e.r being hit. It's ALL Usenet newsgroups.
B) How many legitimate posts have YOU seen that came from China
through Google Groups?
C) Google has the ability to make its groups "READ ONLY" to selected IPs.

Try thinking before you post.

I don't know if Gargle/Google is actually doing any blocking on Chinese
Usenet spam, but if they do it's most likely doing it on the NNTP
posting IP addresses involved, same as many email spam blockers do with
the sending IP of known spam sources. I know that's how some of the
larger newsproviders like Giganews do it.

That's not depriving the 'billion people' stated in China of usenet
posting via Google . Their own government does far more blocking as
censorship than Google ever could..
