Default Carvin Pro Bass 100 combo

Shorted power rails in the 15 pin 100W, output device marked
Carvin 60-72940
Before I replace it with a fudge-pinned TDA7294 , has anyone been here
before ?
I'm assuming the Carvin one is no more than a pinning variant of the 15 pin
, 100W SGS device, especially with 7294 in the Carvin number

I'd be surprised if Carvin had the volume clout to source a custom
designed device. More likely a standard device, rebadged.

At the moment I'm trying to discover what , if any, is the difference
between TDA7294 and TDA7294V. I have 2, one of each, in front of me and DVM
diode testing they seem to be more different than just differing pinning.
Datasheet sources seem to make the 2 interchangeable.

I'll have to also cross-compare to the Carvin scematic / actuality as the
schematic does not have the pinning, just pin function connections

There was a label over the Carvin one, not that that was obvious, that had
melted into the encapsulation. Peeling it back , there was TDA729 underneath
but then the last part nearly charred.

The new V version that I have here , although new, at-hand spare, must be
seriously faulty. Even assuming funny MOS behaviour to diode/resistance pin
to pin checking, there are 6 seriously low ohmic connections to the heatsink
and none for the non-V .
