Default Common Samsung 27" CRT failures.

Units made around 1999, have seen common CRT failures. Model #
TXJ2750X/XAC, Chassis
# K51A. Units come in with 2SD1880 horizontal output shorted, & CRT
arcing orange inside tube, replace horizontal output, set works for a
couple of days, & the replaced CRT also starts arcing. Sometimes the
CRT's lose the vacuum, other times, they arc, for no aparent reason.
Sometimes, if you hit the CRT hard, the problem will show up. Anyone
see the exact cause
for this fault? High voltage & B + is fine, & horizontal output runs
at normal temperature. Dani.

Have you checked the HT and then EHT? excessive HT woill cause
excessive EHT. Also tuning components in the line output can cause
excessive EHT. This should be around 25-28 KV. If these voltages are
ok, maybe you are buying crap tubes?

Cheers
Rod
