27" RCA TV VCR DVD.
Model # 27F501TDV A Chassis # M5Q18, no vertical, the IC was blown
apart. Replaced the IC LA78041, 2-100 uf 50 volt, 1-4.7 uf 50 volt, 1-3.3 uf 250 volt caps, & 30 volt zener, then @ turn on, the IC blew apart in an instant. Is this common failure for this unit? Dani. |

No.... it is not a "common" problem with this chassis.... did the zener
diode blow too! (could be a clue) ...... you may have done so already but I would look for shorted diodes around the chip circuitry... also look for proper B+ going to the chip, make certain that it is not too high, unregulated or worst case un-rectified because of a shorted rectifier diode. Lastly, "ring test" the yoke windings. Best Regards, Daniel Sofie Electronics Supply & Repair - - - - -- - - -- "Dani" wrote in message ups.com...
