My TV appears to turn on and the red standby/power on light comes on
and flashes like it normally does when warming up for a few seconds,
but the picture or sound never appear. It just flashes. I try to
power it off and it sounds like it is clicking off, but the red light
continues to flash.

I am trying to decide if this is something that is worth fixing ($100
or less) at a repair shop or if this is something that I could
potentially fix myself.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem? Any advice?
