Default Govideo 4400 again

DVD VCR combo DVR 4400 where the clock dashes light up but nothing will
power on . A tape will load into the VCR then eject . The thing looks
never used & i have had a few that do this .
One person suggested capacitors in the power supply .. nope they all ESR
good i changed the 22-16 np anyway & no go .

Any more ideas ?

Did you take readings at the outputs of the power supply while inserting the
tape? If you see more than about a 2% dip at any of its outputs, the supply
is not fixed.

I cannot be specific to the model you have. It is also possible that the
tape is not being properly sensed for proper loading, and therefore it is
ejected. There may be something mechanically jamming, and thus the tape is
ejected. It is possible that there is some type of fault with the uPC, and
therefore there is improper function.

In the end, you may have to replace the combo unit, since there is really no
service support for these. I would doubt you can have parts or service
information for it.

Hi Jana . The vcr mech is ok , the problem is the whole machine wont
turn on . Only the clock dashes light up when the cord is plugged in the
wall .
I have run across several that do this and almost new out of the box .

I know they are not worth messing with to far but thought someone else
seen this . I believe its a factory defect .
