Default RCA CTC177AA

Hi!
This CTC177AA has good vedeo and sound channel 51 from there on up it is
real snowy, took care of all the loose solder on the tunner,but it doesn't
help.Open to all sugestions. Thank you.

Troubleshoot the uhf section of the tuner, specifically the front end
rf amplifiers. Possibly while repairing the solder connections a
solder bridge was caused or a nearby component damaged. Also possible
that the eeprom is severely corrupted from failed solder connections
and a full tuner alignment is in order per the service manual.

Mr Genny, yes.
Mr Chipper on a ctc177, probably not, can do it with the training
manual and remote control.

Tag001 tuner signal generator or equivalent 125 channel cable signal
generator.
No, cable tv signal is not good enough to do it right as the cable
companies signal may be considerably off frequency and no way to
control the signal strength.

It could be the mixer ic. Sony CX something. It is the ic that
stands up in the tuner assembly. Chuck
