Default philips AV switching to standby

Hi philips 32inch tubed tv
weird problem -
thought it had gone away, and now its back

turn on tv and its on fine, without sky turned on, so the picture is grey
with no signal - this is usual.
in the past i would turn on sky plus unit and signal would swith to av and
tv as normal, also could go to other avs without any problem.
Now, turn on tv, can sit there for ever without the tv turning off.

turn on sky from standby and the tv goes into standby and the red led on the
tv blinks.
also if i try other sources when its turning on dvd etc these might work if
i am quick, after the picture is on, if i try to alter the av to another
source, it goes into standby.

I remember this happening a year or two ago, when i had a tivo, and they
sent down a patch that stopped it happening.

tivos gone now, and i havent altered the current configuration for some
time.

any ideas

change over the scart/euroconnector leads and see if that helps. you
could have a 5v switch voltage pin short to ground or something. scart
leads are notorious for the pins bending or losing contact.
