Default Hiden technical menu in Sanitron color TV

Greatings

I came here with an very strange situation.

A few days ago, my one year old kid was playing with the remote command of a
little bed-room Sanitron TV, switching channels, AV, back to channel,
volume up, volume down, pressing every key... you know kids
Then a bizarre thing happened:
Somehow my kid punch a sequence or a combination that had put on screen a
technical menu that i've never seen before.
It had a red description on top, a vertical green list of itens with
abreviations and numbers and tree color bars (red, green, blue) on the
screen center for individual color ajustments... I don't know how many
minutes he was pressing keys on that menu, when i saw that i took off the
remote from his hands e try to shut down the menu widout any luck, so i
shut down the TV in it's main switch.

Turn it on again and it looks normal at first, but then i notice many
missing channels , i have cable tv with more than 50 channels and now i can
only see about 20... When i've tryed to memorize the channels again i
realize that the TV only receves from C01 to C20 and S01 to S41... all
frequencies from C21 to C69 only come out with no signal white
interference. So i realize that the UHF receiver is not working.
Somehow the kid desconfigured the UHF receiver, and my favorite channels are
on UHF.

I've been trying to get access to that menu with no luck.

Friends, i do have a few understandig about electronics but i am not a tv
technician (in a way, i am a electronics car technitian)... can you help
me?
Can you teach me how to go to that menu and try to reconfigure things in
there? Or is there a way to reset things and put everything back on factory
defaults?
Will i be going to put the tv in the trash for this stupid situation?

Many thanks

Allready been search for sanitron, sonitron, sanyo with google and i can't
find anything about the weird menu i saw.
My only hope was that you tv tecnicians knows how to get to the damn
menu...
menu that should never be acessible from a remote controler, only from a
internal computer interface.

Damn TVs are having too many digitalized functions...

Why? This is a rarity to have something like this happen. Many brands
use remote or front panel keys to access the service menu, and it can
be a big plus for a technician to not have to go inside and connect a
bunch of equipment when it reall isn't necessary.

Ok, i agree with that... but if there is a remote possibility to a client
bumps into those service menu, then they should provide information about
it.
This is not the first time i see kids do things like this, kids have strange
habilities, you know.

Can you give any hint? In most cases to access service menus it's by
sequence of keys or pressing 2 or 3 keys at the same time ?

Thanks

This spot came up in a Google search...nothing on the first 10 pages,
but "servico menu" was part of the text on the Google hit. Good luck.

I'm sorry, what do you mean broadcast?

I have cable tv but the signal is just RF... the TV in question only
receives from the RF cable.

I don't even find where to make that selection.

Hi...

It may be just a cruel coincidence, but Daewoo makes a set with that
model number. (14T1)

A (free) service manual for the daewoo one is here, if you'd care
to check it out.

http://www.eserviceinfo.com/index.ph...hstring=c-14t1

Take care.

I believe it's a coincidence... i've downloaded the pdf and from the
pictures it does not even look like my tv... anyway, there is no indication
on the pdf about service menus, just a lot of technical descriptions,
schematics and lists of parts references and values.
Very god document but doesn't have what i need.

This is becoming mutch more dificult then i expected, my nš1 dificulty now
is to identify the brand. every search for "sanitron" comes out with
ulta-violet lamps and same other thing about water.
I'm not even sure that sanitron is related to sanyo anymore, as i tought at
the begining.
This is what we get by bying tvs in the supermarket. This thing doesn't even
have a real brand.

Take care.

Ken

Thanks anyway

Hi...

Sorry 'bout that. Let's try one more, doesn't cost anything

Press standby on the remote 'till the set comes on.

Then press and hold vol down on the set front, and press and hold
7 (seven) on the remote for several seconds, until OK appears on the
screen.

Typically you find it after pushing setup button on remote, then channel
settings or some procedure similar. then look for a broadcast/cable, or
air/cable or similar option. (it is often where you tell the tv to search
channels or add/remove channels).

Hi

I only find an "System BG" witch looks like is auto-detect because it
doesn't let me change it.
When reading the manual, this have to do with the PAL/SECAM stuff and it's
autodetectable.
There is nothing like you describe in this tv-set.

If it was a problem of "where does the signal enter", do you think it would
just affect UHF band?

Note that there is no other problem, in VHF and in the Super-Band (that is
what i've heard call it) from S00 to S20, the set works fine.
There is only no reception from C21 to C80 (UHF)... well, in two channels it
looks like there is something there because i can see some shadows and
lines behind all that interference.

Thanks
Amarok

Press standby on the remote 'till the set comes on.

standby never turns this set on, only off...
this tv is turned on by pressing one of the "0-9" buttons and standby only
turns off...
I've just keep standby pressed for 1 minute and the tv never turned on.
Does it require more time ?

Then press and hold vol down on the set front, and press and hold
7 (seven) on the remote for several seconds, until OK appears on the
screen.

This is suposed to be a reset right ?
No go, only when i pressed "7" the set came on... normaly.

Thanks Ken

Desparate suggestion...if you can, replace the EEPROM?

Unless it's part of the uP...

Default Incredible news !!!

Guys, you will not believe this:

And the kid did it again... twice.

The first time i wasn't at home and it was desastrous... almost channels
lost (only 2 remain), the scan frequencies menu was gone so it was not
possible to search for channels any more, start to have AV1 and AV2 when
the TV only have one AV input... Tv was all F#%# up...

Tonight the kid did it again and i was abled to take a look at the menu...
put the tuner mode in Philips (a shoot in the dark)
change "hotel mode" to "normal mode"
correct the Vertical and Horizontal posicions
but there is a few other settings there that i don't know what they are.

Thinking i coun't do any worst that it allready was, i shut the tv down on
power button to store the new setting. And now the TV is working fine.
Everything is back, even the UHF.

I still do not know how to enter service menu in this tv, but my genious kid
does
This kid will be flying helicopters at 10 years old

Thanks to all of you who tried to help.
Regards
Amarok
