Default Hitachi CP 2865 TAN switches off if pic gets too bright

This tv is from ca 1994.

When the picture contains too much white color, and/or the picture settings
are turned up, then this tv goes black periodically.

This fault acts like faults I have experienced with the beam-current
limiter on other tv's I have repaired, but I'm asking due to poor schematics.

The picture disappears, but the l/r-audio-channel LED's are still on.

Switching off the main power-switch, and then waiting until the l/r-LED's
goes out before switching it on again, brings the picture back....until next
time it occours.

Any experiences about what faulty components may cause this on this tv ?

Feel free to mail me at the address below.

Thanx.
