Whine from KDS Computer monitor
I have an older 17" KDS computer monitor. It is a soft start switch model
and is continually energized even when off. Lately a couple of things have developed. 1. It emits a contnuous very high pitched whine even when "off" Is this the flyback going? 2. When running it emits a whooshing sounds as if something is gurgling in there. None of the caps appear to be overheating. Any idea what this noise is?? |

When running it emits a whooshing sounds as if something is gurgling in there. None of the caps appear to be overheating. Any idea what this noise See above. Dave |

Whine from KDS Computer monitor
The whining is likely the pulse width modulated power supply transformer,
ringing, may just need to be hot glued, but can also be a load on it, making it work harder than normal. Sky "Michael L" wrote in message .253... I have an older 17" KDS computer monitor.
