Default intentional EMI

Hi ,
this is the first time i send a message on this news group, buy the way i'd
like to know :
if it's possible to remote controlling XP, buy sending intentional EMI using
computer comunication protocol.

I've been damaged 2 hard disk from radio amateur on the zone, but i don't
know how to localize it 8(
and not mentioning the annoing problem about evedropping from crt
emi....i've read something on internet about emi+crt and "intentional emi"
and i found that very useful, but i'd like to know the opinion of the people
that count on this matter, because this is a very privacy problem for me and
I don't see anybody doing something about designing new component less emi,
or jammer to protect from sendin emi. I don't even ear talking about privacy
right on computer (very sad)

it would be very useful to me if some one could explain something on this
subjects.

Ham radio damaging your hard disk? Twice? Really now !
Even if the transmitter were right next to the computer instead of somewhere
in the neighborhood I would seriously doubt that it would damage your hard
disk....
It is much more likely that YOUR computer is putting out a fair amount of
EMI.... just try listening to a radio scanner or watching an off the air
television with rabbit ears right next to your computer and you will have no
doubt that your computer is a big contributor to local EMI emissions

computers are in operation at radio stations which transmit much higher
power levels than any ham station.

the sad fact is that anything that moves will eventully wear out. the one th
ing you can count on is sooner or later all hard drives will cease to
function.

I perhaps could damage a hard drive with RF. im not sure exactly how much
power would be needed but id guess that the distance from antenna to disk
would have to be millimeters apart. again im not sure on this but I would
not be surprised if someone strapped a HD to a ham antenna and transmitter
the full legal 2,000 W PEP and then found the HD still worked

If you are in an area where the EMI is able to damage hard drive, you and
anyone in the are should have severe RF radiation burns, and damage. The
hard disk is well shielded from outside radiation.

I have set up computers to work in environments where there are high power
RF transmissions near by. These computers continue to work 24/7.

Are you sure that you don't have something like a power supply failure
occurring???
