I am unable to start my tv, the stanby light is flashing and there is a
ticking noise. Is it worth changing the power supply circuit or can anyone
suggest what to do next.

the standby light flash means the psu is likely in protection mode due
to a short on one of its outputs,in this case you will need to check
the line stage (start with the HOT, check for s/c). Post back with your
test results
