This is a style of design I first came across in 1988.

The compound arrangement of input transistors has been abandoned in favour of
applying overall feedback and the THD performance is improved.

Since the gain provided by the discrete front end is always less than the total
gain overall and the op-amps are unity gain stable the design requires no
further compensation.
