It's a very good fit on the 12mm outside diameter, but 12mm is almost
exactly half inch so you could have something there. Anyone heard of
half inch threaded monoblock tap fittings? Would the TPI be (generally)
lower or higher on a metric threaded fitting?

I'd have thought the imperial would be something like 24tpi and the
metric would be 1.5mm pitch, but I don't know much about plumbing.
