I had a very heavy table - about 5' long x about 4' wide with an insert
about 18" long. The top is about 1" thick
mahogany and there was a massive wood slide mechanism about 30" wide x

4'
long by about 3" deep that I had to remove to be able to move the table
around. I did a temporary fix to allow me to use the table and now I

want to
install a slider mechanism to allow the insert to be used or not, as
desired.

I found the rockler.com web site and they have a pair of 2.5" deep 36"

long
ball bearing units:

"Extension Slides - Steel, 2-1/2'' High- Max Opening of 38'' (set)" for

$93

but no detailed information.

Anyone have experience of these, or know of an alternative.

Van Dykes has a pretty good selection - your choice of wood or metal.

I sent the following reply to this post on 9/21 but it did not appear on my
server.

Thanks Rico but I didn't see any more product details there. The prices are
better than Rockler's though. Have you had any experience of their products?
