The current melting of the polar caps & the glaciers is soaking
up quite a bit of the excess heat ... but when they are gone ...

BTW, The average ocean depth is in the range of 12,500 feet
and water expands at about 38.3 µin/in-°F so a + 1 degree F
change in the overall temp would result in a sealevel rise
of about 5.7 inches (that's per degree F) (someone check my math)
but that does not include any water now on land that gets melted ....
that's quite a bit worse IIRC.
