Default Toshiba 53HX71 convergence block woes

Greetings,

Went out on a call, Toshiba 53HX71, Green convergence was way out on
the upper part of the screen, checked convergence the blocks, found
one section of one of the STK392-110 blocks shorted, it took out the
1.8 ohm resistor that fed thru that section. I replaced both blocks
all 3 1.8 ohm resistors for that block, checked all the other power
resistors around both blocks, they were OK, thought I had it fixed. I
went through the basic remote alignment, looked fine, went on my way.
well, about a week or so later the customer called back, so I stopped
over, now has red foldover in very upper corner after it warms up
after about an hour or so on, thought I got a bad block so I pulled
both blocks out and replaced them, better safe than sorry, so I
thought. It still has foldover on the red uppermost left corner after
it warms up. I noticed that the one of 1.8 ohm resistors I replaced
was discolored. I was wondering if, perhaps, I have a leaky cap
problem. Or, perhaps, did not do the alignment properly and the
convergence amps are driving too hard. It now acts like a leaky cap
problem, you know, cap that is slowly changing into a resistor... I
pulled the board completely out, took it back to my shop and blew it
off thinking I would be able to see some leakage, or, perhaps
discolored caps, all look fine. Is there something that is common to
these beasts? I've replaced the convergence blocks on these chassis
before, which usually takes care of the problem... I don't have a
schematic, or screen overlay. Is there a procedure that I'm missing?
I remember a few years ago that I could call up a more detailed
crosshatch alignment screen using the remote. Just don't see many of
these.

to email me direct just remove the NO_SPAM
Thanks In Advance,
