You'd still have to take care to not inadvertently turn on the gas
without lighting it, so it'd be a Rube-Goldberg kludge.

Try string on finger, or rubber-band.

Ya, maybe one of those Lance Armstrong yellow rubber bands. Place it on
the handle of the BBQ when not in use. When I'm using the Q, I put it
on my wrist. At the very least, I'll remember when I take a shower in
the morning.
