Unfortunately at this point you've got a design problem
rather than a materials problem. Until you've got a better
model of the pressures involved in your mechanism you're
shooting in the dark trying to select materials. You can
either use the materials on Hertzian stresses I pointed to
before and go thru the admittedly ugly calculations, or
change the design to something that's easier to analyze.

I've designed my share of cam operated machinery, and my
gut feeling is that the design is not practical as
conceived.
