Have a chat with the power company, you may have grounds for a claim.

Who will say that as part of their T&Cs for provision of supply they
cannot guarantee continuity of said supply. Some devices are prone to
failure when first powered up, even if using a switch on the socket etc.
Pace satellite systems were renowned for failing like this.

You could always find out if the supply failure was caused by cable
damage, in which case you may have some way of claiming against the guys
who hit it, but in all likelihood, the easiest and quickest way of
resolving it will probably be to claim on your house insurance.
