Default gas cooker won't stay alight

Hi All,

first time of posting - and hoping

courtesy of the electric company i had a power cut yesterday - but
there must have been a nice power spike as well! it blew a usb hub on
a computer and something to do with ignition on my gas cooker!

the clock on the cooker is blown due to this but also the oven
ignition circuit (automatic ignition). The cooker hob still works so i
know the gas supply is ok. If i light the oven manually it stays
alight for a minute or so, and then goes out!

any ideas and suggestions?, the cooker is about 15 years old but was
working fine, so is it time to replace it, or is it a cheap fix by
replacing some eletrical/electronic component in the cooker.

the cooker is a "new world plan 6"

any help much appreciated

thanks

Have a chat with the power company, you may have grounds for a claim.
