yes a good ole hardware store will have them, so will plumbing supply house.
You could replace 5 or 6 of the fluidmaster types before you recouped the
cost of the high end ballcock. Flappers jsut make sure you get the right one
and if they have a choice between a 99c one and a $3 one look and see if the
more expensive one is more plyable or not.

They are high tech, made of minute plastic parts that get slimed and
warped in a few years. The old brass stuff lasted longer than the
mortgage.
The rubber flap is another sorry thing, there must be a better type of
rubbery material that what is commonly used.

Has anyone a suggestion for suppliers of good quality tank valves?
Will a real plumbing supply have anything better or is the same HD stuff?
