tool place in the Metroplex that I've been tossed out of and banned
from. Caught them trying to sell some salvaged equipment from my
employer as fully functional when our internal repair shop had it
scrapped as unrepairable and parts unavailable. They got real uptight
when I started to quote from where certain items came from and why they
had been sent to salvage as total junk despite the nice little test
tags they had hung on them.

Old man Williams sold out about 18 months ago. The new owner seems like
a nice guy. Apparently he loves to scrounge garage sales and estate
sales, comes back with all kinds of junk, much to the consternation of
the help BTW, all the help has changed too.
A very good and old friend of mine, Walter Chamberlain, is the store
manager now, and I can tell you he's as straight-up as they come - but
he's not a gearhead.
So if you haven't been back since then, it may be different. Prices
seem to be getting more reasonable. They are aware of the price of
commodities over the internet. But still, most of their business is
oilfield and industry, where price is less important than availablility
and quality.
