Looks like the whole group is suffering from a bit of castration anxiety:

Might have been better just to have sold the stuff, without going in to the
ex-wife details.

Yes. But my feeling is that any items sold under these circumstances
run a much higher risk then normal of being sold by somebody who
doesn't own them in the first place.
