Traditional:
Breatheable
Slightly flexible

Modern:
Impermeable
Rigid
High embodied energy

Not sure I totally agree with this. Some modern Scandanvian and more
especially German timber structures are highly rigid and sealed yet I would
say are eco-friendly (and traditional)
