Hi electricitym,

Thanks very much for the info. By the way, the component (circuit
breaker) in question is an off-white/grey rectangular device that has a
jagged "S" logo and the following part number (two lines):

A-40
5X05

I'm guessing that that it may be rated at 40 amps (hence the "A-40"),
but I can't seem to find any reference as to what this compenent really
is and how it works. If anyone here knows more about it, I'd really
appreciate some additional information.
