Mac,
All of the loggers that I have talked to (there are a lot of them here
in Oregon), the saw shop where I bought my Husky, and the factory rep
from Sthil who did a chainsaw safety demo for our club said to use
premion grade gas. Gas degrades fairly quickly, and if you don't use is
up within a month, and don't use a stabilizer, it is bad for your saw.
If it has been since last summer, the gas should be thrown out.

Good point, thanks... I'll definitely keep that in mind..

One of the reasons that I paid a few cents extra to get the 2 cycle oil in the
"gallon mix" size is that we have a tiny tank on the chain saw and I don't want
to pre-mix more than a gallon at a time..
If I have any left in the can at the end of our trips to the woods, I'll pass it
on to a neighbor with a weed eater..

If the chain saw is like either of our trucks, it would run a lot better on your
gas than on the crap that they call gas in Calif..
