I keep getting squirrels building a nest under a roof. Its an

could spray there to keep them away from that portion of the house?
Or are they afraid of any rubber animals?

Squirrels are protected? What state is that?

In most states squirrels are game animals. You may hunt them, generally
between September and January, if you have a license. Be sure to tag the
antlers. The good news is that in these states, squirrels gnawing on wiring
is not considered "miscellaneous rodent damage" by your insurance company.

I'd spray some #6 birdshot from a 12-gauge to repel them.

Only during September through January.
