Refrigeration pumps are overkill for vacuum chucks. If you turn wet
wood, some of the moisture will collect in the oil. This is not a
problem as far as the vacuum obtained is concerned, however I would not
store pumps with wet oil for long periods of time. The water will rust
the internal iron parts of the pump.
