Agreed. If you were spec-ing this from the factory.

But do you really think a $20 case from China will come with appropriate
coatings/elastomer papers for further pressing work?

Douglas, an awful lot of post-finishing forming is done these days

through
the use of protective papers and elastomeric covers on the forming
equipment. Most pre-finished material is merely brake formed, but there

are
a number of items I've seen that were (lightly) embossed into pre-finished
coil stock.

There are a number of application specific surfacing materials with enough
elasticity to withstand the operations.
