Oil is a poor choice for exterior applications. You'd be better off with
a
good varnish. A marine spar varnish would be a good choice.

Agree - Teak oil is what keeps sailors busy with their religious wood
finishing all of the time. We oiled the wood on our boat every year until
we got smart and used spar varnish.
