It's a standard range with two small and two large stove top
elements

None are standard nor are the different manufactures the same.

Are these elements universal size?

Nope.

Or is it necessary to write to GE, furnish model
number, etc

Not necessarily GE, but yes the model# is best to use and/or bring in
the element to local appliance parts depot.
