Oh, not at all, Gunner. Cats _know_ they are gods. That they haven't
been worshipped as such since ancient Egypt, is something they're still
trying to correct.

They haven't forgotten, and they are still trying to find out what went
wrong. The problem is, being cats, they're right on the case, till they
take a nap, or get hungry, or see something move ...

So we humor them.

Who's humoring whom? Who's feeding whom for that matter? The term "cat
ownership" is intentionally non-directional: It says nothing about who
really owns whom.

Dogs have owners. Cats have "staff".
