Precisely. Could this whole farce be yet another way Big Brother steps
toward full control of its citizens? Were the future as shown in "Max
Headroom" and Max just caricatures, or was that a preview of our own
future?

Those of us moving toward self-sufficiency are likely to be in a much
better position to handle any possible future.
